Today’s small town Mississippi engagement session with Melissa and Wade was submitted by Daesha Marie Photography. From the sweet musical session in the beginning to the playful frolicking at the end, this engagement session is a reminder of how wonderful love in a small town can be!
Melissa & Wade’s Story
Wade and I rented from the same landlord, Mrs. Mary Boteler, in Leland, Mississippi. I came there to teach at a critical needs school. Wade was there for an internship with Bayer. Mrs. Boteler had suggested that we meet more than once, but we still hadn’t gotten around to that yet.
One weekday evening, Wade and I both happened to go to Vince’s, a local bar and restaurant in the small Delta town. Mutual neighbors had invited us both to the restaurant, none of whom we knew well. When Wade came in late, he had to sit at the only vacant seat at the end of the noisy table by me. Neither of us could hear the others’ conversations, so we began to talk to each other. I knew that evening that there was something special about Wade, and I wanted to get to know him better.
Over the next few months, we spent more and more time together. I came to love our awkward conversations, his heavy metal music that I wouldn’t admit I hated, and our mutual love of Tervis tumblers. Wade’s sweet nature and good heart were hard to pass up. As I became more interested, I noticed a mutual friend had liked a photo of him on Facebook. I messaged the friend, Mrs. Brenda Lowry, on Facebook to find out that her family knew Wade’s mother’s family well. After thorough background checking (okay…stalking), I decided that it was meant to be!
After a couple of years that have involved sort of long distance, really long distance, and moving in together, I’m excited to say that our relationship has stayed strong. Wade’s calm demeanor helps level my high-strung personality. His responsibility evens my scatter-brained tendencies. We are totally different and perfectly compatible. What isn’t to love? I’m looking forward to many more years of crazy with my eye candy and soul food.
