About Davies Manor

Davies Manor includes the oldest log home in Shelby County, thirty-two acres of land, and numerous outbuildings.

It is a historic site that acts as a museum with educational experiences like docent-led tours of the log home, a permanent exhibit on the history of slavery and sharecropping at Davies Plantation, and a self-guided walking tour of the grounds and outbuildings.

The outbuildings include a former sharecropper’s cabin, a restored commissary, and two nineteenth-century frontier-style cabins relocated to the property in 2006.

Weddings At Davies Manor

Just down the lane on the property is Hillwood, a modern facility ideal for weddings and receptions, for up to 400 people.

Thanks to the large amount of land there are numerous choices for an outdoor ceremony:

Inside Hillwood, the event space for Davies Manor, there is 6,000 sq. feet of space plus breakout rooms. If you want or need an indoor wedding Hillwood provides a 20 ft. fieldstone fireplace that acts as a perfect backdrop.

When you choose Hillwood, you have the flexibility to choose your preferred vendors since there is not a required list. Hillwood at Davies Manor provides cleaning and an on-site facility manager during events.
